Kids Deployment Line (Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Pride Hangar): This is an opportunity to applaud Ellsworth families and bring awareness to the important role children play in the armed forces. The experience for “deploying” kids will include jumpy houses, face-painting, giveaways, and interaction with agencies around base. Many additional support agencies will be on site answering questions for parents. To register your child for “deployment” please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7Q6KRVZ. Registration closes March 30th or earlier if we have reached 100 registrants.

Heart Link Spouse Orientation (Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Airman & Family Readiness Center): Spouses will understand the Air Force mission and how they fit into it; become familiar with customs, traditions, rank, and protocol; increase their knowledge of benefits; gain awareness of available resources and services; improve communication among Air Force spouses and families; and so much more while having fun with other spouses. Breakfast will be provided. Please call 385-4663 to RSVP by Wednesday, April 25th.

READINESS BRIEFINGS

Pre-Deployment Briefings: This briefing is MANDATORY for any service member deploying or going TDY for greater than 30 days (regardless of how many times you have deployed). It is also MANDATORY for anyone PCSing for a remote tour. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend. Briefings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Deployment Center Auditorium.

Reintegration Briefings: This briefing is MANDATORY for any service member returning from deployment and is required to be completed before being released for R&R.Briefings are held weekly every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 PM to 2 PM at the Airman & Family Readiness Center.


RELATIONSHIP & LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOPS

Bundles for Babies: This course if for those of you Air Force members expecting a new baby or are new parents and is sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society. This workshop explores relationship enhancement and discusses childcare options and preparing financially for the new baby. At the end of the course, each family will receive an AAFES gift card for the value of $50. All workshops listed below will be held from 9 AM to 10 AM.

Life Skills with Silly Putty: In this interactive workshop you will learn the essential building blocks of personal resilience by Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg and then apply the principles to your personal life, relationships, and family life. Feel free to bring your lunch to the workshop. This workshop will take place Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 11 AM to 12 PM.

PREP for Lunch: P.R.E.P. (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program) is for couples who want to make their relationship the best it can be. It will challenge you to think about things you’ve never thought about before and help you to see yourself, your partner, and your relationship in a whole new light. Feel free to bring your lunch to the workshop. All workshops listed below will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM.

Waniyetu Wowapi – Create Your Family Story: Learn about the practice of making winter counts among some Native American groups and their history keeping in an oral culture. Adapt the winter count practice to make your own family winter count and record your family’s major events. By creating a family story, families tend to increase their resilience for future events that may occur. A free Buffalo Chili dinner will be provided. The workshop will take place Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED before Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
