Back to School Round-Up – Saturday, August 26

It is almost that time again! The 2017 Back to School Round Up Event will be held on August 26th, 2017, from 1-3pm, at the PRIDE Hangar.

Please come out and join us for educational resources, FREE school supplies (while supplies last) provided by Operation Home Front for the first 300 children, Dahl art center art projects, a photo booth, climbing wall, bouncy castles, sensory tables, a planetarium dome, and a petting zoo. There will also be prize drawings @ 2:45pm for different age groups.

This event is hosted by the 28 FSS Airman and Family Readiness Flight and Child and Youth Services Flight.

 

Back to School Round Up – Saturday, August 27th

It’s that time again, preparing for the new school year! We will be holding our annual Back to School Round Up Event on 27 August 2016 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the PRIDE hangar.

There will be free backpacks and school supplies offered through the Operation Homefront Program, art activities from the Dahl art center (Pokémon art and a sidewalk chalk demonstration), a petting zoo/farm, a magician, face painting, photo booth, jumpy castles, rock wall, sensory tables/games, and many resource tables from various educational resources and universities in the area.

Please come out and bring the family for some fun. Prize drawings will be held at 2:45, must be present to win.

Back to School Round-Up, Saturday, 7 September from 3-5PM at the Pride Hanger

The Back to School Round-Up is this weekend!  Be sure to come out to the Pride Hangar on Saturday, September 7 from 3-5pm for a rootin’ tootin’ good time.  The first 200 kids will receive a drawstring backpack filled with goodies, …and one lucky child will go home with an iPad Mini!  Plus there will be a climbing wall, tumble bus, jumpy castles, balloon animals, games and so much more!  Please share with all your friends, and we’ll see you all on Saturday!

Ellsworth AFB reporting essential personnel only; A&FRC closed today; school closures; weather update

Due to today’s weather conditions and base reporting instructions, the Airman & Family Readiness Center will be closed today.

Today’s reintegration briefing is cancelled. Our next bi-weekly reintegration briefing will occur next Tuesday. Please call us (605-385-4663) on Monday, 14 January to register for that briefing.

According to the Ellsworth School Liaison Officer, Douglas and Rapid City Schools, Meade Schools, Rapid City Catholic Schools, Rapid City Christian, Calvary Christian and Zion Lutheran are closed today. Local news are also reporting that all school activities are cancelled.

Per 28 BW/CC: Ellsworth AFB is currently MIN ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL only. Group commander discretion to modify shifts, show times, and activities to meet mission requirements.

Per 28 BW/CC: Please use extreme caution today, especially if you will be out this afternoon/evening, as the high winds and blowing snow will likely cause white out conditions. High temps in the low teens tomorrow and Sunday. NOT a good time to get stranded somewhere.

Per 28 BW/CC: WINTER WEATHER UPDATE: The models remain consistent, with a likely increase in overall intensity. You should expect to see around 7 inches of snow today through early Saturday morning. High winds and cold temperatures all weekend. Because of the cold temperatures and wind, you can expect significant drifting and reduced visibility.
