Non-Temporary Storage – JFTR, U4770-B
Applies to TDY’s of 90 days or more only.
1. Gov’t Arranged Storage
• Traveler MUST have TDY orders in hand
• Letter-In-Lieu of orders NOT authorized
2. Personally Procured Move (PPM) Storage
• Memorandum signed by Service-designated authority identifying the individual, deployment date (RDD), duration, and operation supported. Original must go to PRU for authorization to be included in CED order with copy to TMO
• Service-designated authority is on-orders commander, not someone for him/her
• No Fund citation required on CC memorandum as ACC uses GWOT funding which PRU places on orders
• CC / UDM should discuss timeliness of storing property to prevent excessive cost to gov’t
• Individuals MUST sign a statement acknowledging financial liability in the event CED orders are not published, no exceptions; TMO will provide statement when counseling member. Individual must consider this when deciding what date to place property in storage
• TMO will then prepare PPM authorization contract (requires an appointment)
• Upon return individual has 90 days continued storage before gov’t funding ends (U4770-D)
• Upon removal from PPM storage individual obtains appointment and reports to TMO with original PPM contract and receipts for cost determination for reimbursement.
